Hello and welcome to Farmer Giles!

We are now closed for a winter transformation and will re-open 17th March. This year is our 21st Birthday and we are planning a series of special events to celebrate. Come along and join in the fun and pop in to our new farm and coffee shop for a well earned cuppa and homemade treats! There is a soft play area to keep the little ones occupied and child friendly menu options. Whether you are a local in need of refreshment and some time to relax or a visitor to the area, we look forward to welcoming you and your family.

We pride ourselves on being a Good Value Family Day Out whatever the weather.

Have Fun and Learn: Farmer Giles Farmstead is designed to delight children from 18 months to 9 or 10 years old. I love to see children feeding or cuddling the animals. They learn so much from “doing” rather than just “watching” and I have plenty of hand washing facilities with anti bacterial soap. I also have plenty of Yesterday’s Farming implements and dairy to keep older groups happy as well!

All Weather Fun: With our huge indoor play areas as well as all the fun of the farm outside, there's lots to do and see for the whole family no matter what the weather does.

Safe and Clean: Farmer Giles has been open for over twenty years and in that time I’ve made sure that everything is as safe as possible.

Meet the  Farmer Giles Animals: I’ve got lots of animals for you to meet: old friends like Socks the pony right down to newcomers such as the little lambs and baby donkey. Keep a look out for new animals and you could even sponsor one. Three LLAMAs have just arrived to entertain you!

So come and treat your family to a good value fun day out at Farmer Giles Farmstead! Even better why not book a stay in one of our wooden cabin chalets - more details at Farmer Giles Magna Chalets

Dogs are welcome and we have facilities to accomodate them.

This wonderful picture was taken by 13 year old Caspar Ruane when he visited Farmer Giles Farmstead before Christmas. Farmer Giles and I think this is such a good photo we have given Caspar a free season ticket to Farmer Giles to say "well done". @farmergiles.co.uk. Any we put onto the website will win a FREE season ticket as well. Happy Shooting! love Mrs Farmer Giles

PEBBLES JOINS THE FARMER GILES FAMILY

Pebbles, a very handsome 24 year old pony, has recently joined us at Farmer Giles. Pebbles has led a busy life teaching children to ride, competing at pony club and jumping cross country. When he reached his last birthday his owners tried to retire him and let him spend all his time out in the fields with his friends. However, Pebbles became so bored that his caring owners became very worried about him and asked if we could find him a gentle "job" at Farmer Giles. So, Pebbles now spends his time being cuddled and giving some gentle pony rides. Come and see him when we open again in March 17th.

SPRING STARTS EARLY AT FARMER GILES

Mathilda, the Middle White pig at Farmer Giles has just had 5 piglets. The father is Sambo, the Gloucester Old Spot boar at the farm and so some of the piglets are plain white (like mum) and some have spots (like dad). They are all, however, equally gorgeous and have learned already to expect daily cuddles and attention.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO US

This year we celebrate our 21st Birthday and will re-opening on 17th March. Keep an eye on the calendar for special events to kick off the celebrations!

CHARITY WORK

Farmer Giles has nominated Naomi House as it’s charity of choice for 2012 and aims to hold fundraising events throughout the year. “We felt as though it was appropriate that as a family attraction we supported a charity that helps sick children and their families,” says owner Mary Corrie-Deane, “Many of the animals that we have on the farm are in need of special care or have been orphaned, we know the importance of having support during the nursing process. Naomi House does a commendable job and we are proud to raise money for such a worthy cause.”
